+ Will Hallett Gutter Cover handle heavy downpours?
Yes. When properly installed, Hallett Gutter Cover can handle any amount of rainfall. It has been successfully tested in conditions of up to 6 inches of rainfall per hour. Our one piece design allows only water to enter your gutters by surface tension and electro-magnetic attraction. Water follows the curved surface into your gutters and debris falls over the edge.
+ Is ice a problem?
Hallett Gutter Cover won,t solve any ice problems, but it won,t create any new ones either, and, it helps eliminate ice build-up in your gutters and downspouts which can lead to severe damage. Ice and snow will sit on top of it, not in your gutters.
+ Will pine needles, seedlings and debris find their way into the guttering?
No. Debris is mostly blown into open top gutters that can cause severe clogging and require messy clean-up. Hallett Gutter Cover has no holes, mesh or slots to catch any debris or leaves. If any small debris does get in, it will flush through the clean gutter system and out the downspouts. It is important that the guttering be cleaned thoroughly before installing Hallett Gutter Cover. An annual inspection of the guttering is recommended.
+ Can Hallett Gutter Cover handle steep roofs.
Yes. The pitch of the roof will not effect the ability of Hallett Gutter Cover to handle the flow of water. Depending on the gutter installation, the Gutter Cover may need to be bent up or down for a better fit to the roof edge.
+ Will Hallett Gutter Cover work on Cedar or Tile (slate) roofs?
Yes, but extreme care should be taken and may be limited to new installations only. Old roofs are brittle, so extreme caution is vital.
+ What about vinyl guttering?
No. Hallett Gutter Cover has been tested and findings show that most vinyl guttering does not have the lip to accommodate our product.
+ Will Hallett Gutter Cover blow off in the wind?
No. The shingles hold the top of the Gutter Cover and the other side is snapped into the clip that is screwed to the guttering.
+ What about the inside corners and roof valleys?
All inside corners and roof valleys need a deflector (as shown below).
+ What about all corners?
Gutter Cover is cut at a 45 degree angle to allow a 3/4" over lap screwed together.
+ Should the ends of Hallett Gutter Cover be covered?
Yes. Birds and small animals may find their way into the guttering through the open end. To eliminate this possibility,it is important to bend the Gutter Cover down into the gutter (on the inside of the end cap), leaving no openings.
+ Is there a warranty?
Yes. Hallett Gutter Cover has a 5 year product satisfaction warranty and a 20 year warranty on the finish.
